Baseball is Back!

Baseball is finally back! There is no excuse for the lack of posts throughout the offseason, but baseball season is back and I am ready! I will once again sit behind the microphone calling all 42 of the Laconia Muskrats games this season. The Muskrats, one of the twelve teams in the prestigious New England

Mariano Rivera Jr (Iona)

Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), feature a couple of big names on their roster such as Braxton Martinez (3B from St. Louis University) and Mariano Rivera Jr (Iona College). Yes, you read that second name correctly. These two players will be just a fraction of the talent you can expect to see on the Laconia Muskrats roster this season. The Muskrats open up their season on June 8th in Laconia, NH at Robbie Mills Field. They will be taking on the Keene Swamp Bats and first pitch is at 6:30 PM. More info on how to tune in will be posted as the date gets closer.

Now lets talk about the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. I will also be covering the Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, frequently for the months of April and May. Fisher Cats articles will not be as common on the blog during the Muskrats season, because sadly, it is impossible to keep up with both of the teams. Bobby Meacham is the Fisher Cats new skipper, and the team is expected to perform well under his direction. Although the roster on the Fisher Cats website is far from complete, it still features top prospect Marcus Stroman and New Hampshire-native Kevin Nolan. The Fisher Cats open up their season on April 3rd in Trenton, but their home opener is April 10th against the Binghamton Mets at 6:35 PM.

After all of this excitement, I think it is time to call it a night, but this will not be the last post you see before Opening Day. We are just 16 short days away from first pitch at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium!

A certain sign of spring—I can hardly wait! Prestigous is that an hyperbole ????
Nice to see the articles—look forward to your thoughts on the FisherCats/Seadogs.
